Do I need paint correction before a ceramic coating?

Understand why preparation matters before any long-lasting coating is applied.

Why the paint beneath the coating matters

A coating follows the surface beneath it. If the paint has swirls, haze, or oxidation, those defects will still be visible after the coating is applied.

Preparation advice is part of the customer guidance offered by the Bobbitt Auto Detailing team.

How correction helps

Machine polishing can remove or reduce many clear-coat imperfections and improve clarity before coating. The right amount of correction depends on your paint and expectations.

Not every vehicle needs the same process

A well-kept vehicle may only need a gloss enhancement polish; a heavily marked finish may benefit from a one-step or two-step correction. We inspect the car before recommending a package.

Our shop process

We wash and decontaminate the vehicle, assess the finish under lighting, correct as needed, prepare the surface, and apply the coating indoors.
