Meet the Owners Behind Mount Airy’s Most Trusted Ceramic Coating & Detailing Team

Bobbitt Auto Detailing is a locally owned, owner-operated ceramic coating and auto detailing company based in Mount Airy, North Carolina. We’re not a franchise, and we’re not a crew of rotating technicians — every vehicle that comes through our doors is handled personally by one of the two people whose name is on the door: Tanner and Mason Bobbitt. We built this business around one idea: busy professionals and busy parents deserve a vehicle that’s clean, protected, and taken care of — without having to find the time to do it themselves.

Meet the brothers behind Bobbitt Auto Detailing and our vehicle-care services.

Our Story

Bobbitt Auto Detailing started in 2021, and honestly, it started by accident.

Tanner was caring for his grandmother, who was seriously ill at the time, and spending long stretches just sitting with her. To pass the time between visits, he found himself scrolling YouTube — and stumbled onto a channel called Apex Detail. The videos showed a detailer named Brian Spitler transforming neglected paint into mirror-quality finishes with paint correction and ceramic coating.

Tanner called him. Brian didn’t have to answer, and he definitely didn’t have to spend the time he did walking a total stranger through his entire process — but he did. That one phone call is the reason this business exists. Brian has been Tanner’s mentor ever since, and Apex Detail’s influence is still visible in the standard we hold every vehicle to today.

What started as a one-man operation working out of a genuine passion has grown into a two-person, owner-operated business with over 200 five-star Google reviews and a reputation across Surry County for doing the job right the first time.

Meet the Team

Tanner Bobbitt — Co-Owner, Customer Experience & Scheduling

Tanner is the voice you’ll talk to when you call, text, or book online. He handles scheduling, customer communication, and works hands-on delivering ceramic coating and detailing services. His standard, simple as it sounds: every customer should have the best service experience they’ve ever had with any business, not just a detailer.

Mason Bobbitt — Co-Owner, Operations

Mason manages the back-office side of the business — the systems, scheduling logistics, and operations that keep every job running on time — while also working hands-on delivering detailing and ceramic coating services alongside Tanner.

What We Do

We specialize in four things: ceramic coating, paint correction, interior detailing, and exterior detailing — including a full wash and wax package. We don’t spread ourselves thin trying to be a full-service body shop — see our service pages for full details on each.

Is Ceramic Coating Worth It?

This is the single most common question we get, and it deserves a straight answer instead of a sales pitch.

Yes — for most vehicle owners, ceramic coating is worth it, because it dramatically reduces how often you need to wash and maintain your vehicle while protecting the paint from UV damage, minor scratches, and contamination for years rather than months. It’s not paint-proof armor, and it won’t fix existing damage — that’s what paint correction is for. But for someone who wants their vehicle to consistently look freshly detailed with far less upkeep, it pays for itself in time saved alone.

At this point, most of our new clients have already decided ceramic coating is right for them before they ever call — usually because a friend referred them, or they read through our Google reviews first. Our job on the call is just to figure out the right package for their vehicle and their goals.

Our Standard

We don’t measure success by how many cars we can push through in a day. We measure it by whether you’d trust us with your own vehicle again — and whether you’d tell a friend to call us.

That means:

Every call, text, or email gets a response within 15 minutes — even in the rare case we miss one live.

We remind you ahead of your appointment so it’s never a surprise.

We actually get to know you and your vehicle when you drop it off — not just check you in.

We follow up after the job is done to make sure you’re genuinely happy, not just to ask for a review.
